November 11, 2016: Brief Breakfast Binocular Bash

Recommended Posts

I awoke to really clear skies, with Jupiter showing brilliantly before dawn. I couldn't resist taking the venerable Helios Apollo 15x70s out, and admire the king of planets and its string of moons. Just a bit later, as I was putting the orange peels in the bin (I always make fresh juice for breakfast), I spotted something really bright rising in the west, grabbed the bins again and it was indeed the ISS, quite readily resolved in the 15x70s.

Bins are just great for these brief observing opportunities
