focal reducer

Should i make the small investment for a focal reducer scope is a 127 skywatcher  .....i intend to use my samsung NX camera and i have a cheap ccd px35c ...skies  have not been nice to me to test just yet ...so i thought i would ask ..

Only only way to know for sure is trial and error.   Basically take an image and see what you get.  The FR may alter the FoV. Which would give a different result.

While 'trial & error' is about right, considering different telescopes and cameras, this document I am linking below will help give one an edge. Though written around the venerable MallinCam video-cams, the principles remain the same regardless of the instruments:

If you are planning to do DS imaging with that setup then it may be hard to very hard. You will need good tracking, even guiding. And then if you use strong reduction you won't be able to use the DSLR.
