Proms on the 28th July

I've got the use of a Solarscope SF-100 at the moment and although conditions aren't perfect (poor seeing and poor transparency), the larger aperture is starting to do it's stuff. Just need a nice active region to try it out on...

I was just observing these very prominences about half an hour ago. Great sight!!!

There also looked to be some sort of spot just off centre on the surface too...

We half expected to see something yesterday given that Selsey

was clear.

I was just reading your thoughts on the SF-70 a couple of days ago in the July issue of Sky at Night.

The photo of the prominence seen against the sun is amazing.
