Deep-sky Sketches

Saw this on the Orion telescope Yahoo group. A series of sketches of DSO's and the like mostly made through an 8 inch Newtonian. Gives a really good impression of what you are likely to be able to see through the eyepiece.

That's an excellent sight to visually get some idea of what is seen through the eyepiece. It certainly looks similar to what I see through my 8" Newt. Thanks for posting!

It would be great for newcomers to astronomy to see this site so they have a good idea of what to expect when looking for the first time. It can be disappointing at first.

This is great! I've had something similar on my website for some time, but it shows how each Messier object would appear through the same eyepiece in my C8.
