NGC7000 with lens

Another North America Nebula from the weekend- this time a stack of eight 300s, unguided subs.

NGC7000 Cygnus-  300s x8, Nikon F2.8 80-200mmED lens at F3.5/200mm, FUJI IS Pro DSLR @ ISO1000.

Looks good! 8 subs is not a lot so well done with that data! If you manage to get 30-40 of those, you'll see how much easier the processing gets.

Nice image. As Martin noted, more subs wii give you a better master image, making processing easier. 30 x 300 sec is 2.5 hrs imaging time. That should be possible on a clear night.

Thanks for the tips - my biggest problem for that session was selecting the wrong camera. I should have used my bog standard Fuji S5 Pro instead of the full spectrum Fuji IS Pro version.

The full spectrum camera is good with all mirror scopes but bloaty UV/IR stars result with a camera lens.

 

The unprocessed stack with nice UV fringes!
