I've had my cable since May 2014, and it's worked perfectly up to last night, not a hitch. Tonight, plugged everything up, yellow warning triangle, unknown device, tried on a different pc, and re installed drivers, nothing. Is it usual for them to fail so suddenly?

Windows 10 has probably updated the driver. You need to google for an older driver that works & then stop it updating. Plenty of info on the net for this.

Try plugging it into another computer and see if it get recognised. If it isn't then it probably has bitten the dust.

Unfortunately devices don't last forever, that's why I make my own.
