Can this be used with a Meade SCT?  That is to say, is the OTA body screw thread  compatible?

Yes, I think so, based on the fact that I have used a Meade reducer on my Celestron SCT.

When they were Japanese made, the Meade and Celestron F/6.3 reducers used to be identical apart from the logos on them.

In answer to your question, there is a 3rd party one, (Antares brand), and it can be fitted to/used with either Celestron or Meade SCT's.

edit If you have a Meade ETX 90, 105, 125 and [some] SkyWatcher SCT's, you can also get a threaded SCT adapter ring to retro-fit the focal reducer on the back of the 'scope/OTA.
