just wondered what people used while setting up focusing with bahtinov mask,to give you a live view with the atik 414ex ccd camera as only used artemis at the minute cheers

Artemis works fine for me. On a bright star I make slight adjustments on exposures of 1 to 3 seconds and that seems to work - not quite live view, but it means I don't need to hop in and out of different programmes.

Just use Artemis. You don't need resolution for a B mask focus so use Bin 2 for speed. There is no such thing as live view. All images need to be downloaded and presented. The 414 is pretty quick. Just set it on loop. Since checking focus regularly is a good idea (indeed an essential idea) I'd suggest learning the Artemis FWHM feature as well. You may not have a B mask sized star in your image but it is unusual not to have a star bright enough for FWHM unless you are using a 3nm narrowband filter.
