EQ6 MOUNT ON AN EQ5 PILLAR

I wonder if the EQ6 mount could be used on  an Explore Scientific EQ5 Pillar. The EQ5 Pillar is bolted down to a base of 3 hundred weight of concrete to a depth of 2ft The Pillar is 5 inches in diameter. I can soon machine up a suitable pillar adaptor to fit the EQ6 This set up is in a neighbour's garden, and I would not want to mislead him. Can we get away with it. He does not do imaging just visual.....Dave

In a word. Yes.  The EQ5 and 6 need different adapters but otherwise I see no reason for it not to work.
