Early Morning Orion

Recommended Posts

got up early this morning at around 3:30am to try and image Orion. Started to image at around 3:50am leaving me 40 minutes with astronomical darkness, I managed to capture the belt and sword, M42 with Rigel off to the right. I also took a widefeild of the constellation which still needs processing.

Nikon d3300, 70mm, F4.0, 1600ISO, 33x6s Lights and 10 darks used. Stacked in DSS. Processed in Photoshop.

I have a lot to learn about processing so any tips and advice would be very helpful.

great widefield mate, id try longer subs if using a tracking mount, 30 sec works well with the o-neb ,it will then show the nebs colour. great shot, well done charl.

This was six seconds with a normal tripod, soon i'm going to get a dovetail mount so i can attach my camera onto my alt-az goto.
