Coniston Water Southern view

We took the tin snail up to Park Coppice caravan site last week.  The weather was great and Friday it partly cleared around 11pm so I walked down to the lake and took a shot looking south.  I would say the skies are slightly darker than my home territory near Ripon particularly straight up as I thought subjectively that the Deneb region of the MW was a bit clearer.  However, there is still LP showing here on the Southern horizon.  For those interested in kit it is a Canon 5D Mk111 with a 24-70 Canon f/4 lens (at f/7.1).  30 seconds exposure ISO 6400.

Very nice Chris.  Next time you're in this part of the world consider a trip to Ennerdale Water.  Excellent dark skies, little bit of LP from west coast but you can often put trees between yourself and that.
