Cosmic rays hitting a camera sensor

Recommended Posts

I had a number of these flashes occurring during the time I was out on the 12th. Not the one I mentioned earlier, on the other thread that was similar but were moving.  Any idea how common cosmic rays hitting the sensor are say in a hour. This was suggested to me and seems to fit. But I have never seen so many of theses types of flashes in one night, almost like the meteors were to blame ?

I will show a couple of examples a gif and some stills

I am not sure how common they are, but I have seen images of flats taken in garages that contain them.

Yes that's right I have seen a few of these, but never so many in a short period. Never heard of shooting stars creating cosmic rays that can not be right. Its interesting whatever it is. But I am convinced they have to be cosmic rays, just why so many during a meteor storm I wonder ?
