Almost Lenticular Clouds.

Not so much an astronomy report, but rather a meteorology(sp?) one.

Over the last 24 hrs i have noticed quite a few clouds/cloud formations which seemed to be trying their best to form into lenticular clouds but never quite got there. I cant say that ive ever really seen a "proper" lenticular cloud and i'm just wondering if anyone else has been seeing similar attempts recently of clouds trying to form into lenticulars.

Proper Lenticular clouds look something like this:

What ive been seeing look more like this: They layers start to form underneath/above each other but dont really quite make it and end up just blending together in one big mush. One layer does form properly.

Neither image is my own. I use them as an example.

One cloud formation i have seen properly forming over the last 3 weeks or so are Super Cells (thunder and lightning storms). Quite spectacular (and menacing) to see them stretch upwards into the atmosphere.
