Help wanted on imaging FOV Calculations

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any advice on how to calculate the field-of-view for a camera and telescope?  I've looked at the tool for FOV calculations with an eyepiece, but that won't tell me what the camera will see.  I have a SW200p, so 1000mm at F5 and a Canon EOS1200d which I will attached directly to the telescope using a T-ring.

Thanks

John

Shows M31 with a SW200p and a Canon EOS100D - the 1200D isn't in the list yet (I will add it :) ) but the 100D has the same size pixels and the resolution is very similar (within a handful of pixels so shouldn't make much difference to the FOV).

Hope that helps :)

P.S - you can change between visual, imaging and binocular mode at the top of the page.
