Eggy Stars Saga - Final Chapter

Having checked all possibilities for the cause of egg shaped stars pointing in different directions the only thing left to check was the focal reducer.  The result - with FR eggy stars, without FR round stars.

I bought the scope from Astronomia which has since gone bust so I contacted FLO who now look after issues for Astronomia customers.

They were amazingly helpful in getting the Focal Reducer replaced by Celestron UK.  If all companies gave the same level of customer service as FLO the world would be a better place.

Ran some 600 sec test images last night with the new Focal Reducer and the stars were perfectly round right across the image.
