adding PEC to PHD2

Hi

I'm quite satisfiied with the images I'm getting but was wondering if adding PEC would interfere with the PHD2 guiding. There seem to be differing opinions. Some say they work against each other, others say it helps. In any case I wonder if it would be able to make the curve any smoother. I've really no idea what I'm aiming at and I really don't want to become a screen watcher but if someone could give rough guidelines of what I should be aiming at graph-wise that would be great. Here is the trace as I was recording the PEC curve and the snaps I took whilst recording. And no. I can't for the life of me work out how to do colour balance.

TIA and clear skies
