Venus Transit 2004

I thought I'd post my sketches of the Venus Transit from 2004 in way of a reminder of what to look out for with the transit of Mercury on May 9th. Though Mercury is tiny in comparison to Venus and more akin to a full stop at the end of a sentence, keen eyed visual observers will thrill at the challenge of witnessing ingress and egress of its tiny disk. The attached drawings were made using a full aperture Mylar filter on a Takahashi FS 128.
