cheaper, unbranded laser collimators

I think I am becoming less confused the more I look at the diagrams. I guess it's just a case of taking the plunge and giving it a go. I take it you actually look down through the Cheshire, if so how is this different from a collimation cap?

parts 6 and 7 were useful however in number 9 he's just moving the laser around. Would have been useful to see down the eyepiece to see what it was doing. As I understand he doesn't regard working on the secondary as 'collimation' but 'alignment'. Collimation being just for the primary
