hi everyone ,i want to buy a power supply for my nexstar goto mount but i am getting confused about whether it should be a ac dc or ac/dc supply ...don't wont to burn it out .thanks

You need a 12 V DC supply with the proper type of tip and polarity, for example,

You might be able to find something cheaper. I run my NexStar 8SE off something like this.

perfect so that means its ac  going to dc to the scope .

Right; you need to convert the mains AC to 12 volts DC, and then into the scope with proper polarity.

Do you really want to use mains power ???

A battery might be easier and certainly safer !!

A deep discharge battery like ones used for golf carts, mobility scooters, boats etc will do the job more than adequately.
