Shelster1973
Very quick question.....would there be any adverse effects of using a visual filter for ccd imaging? Specifically at O-III
Ken82
Firstly id try it and see the effects. I would suspect you'd get reflections and optical errors.
todd8137
Will this be used on a mono cam or OSC ?
Andy Mitchell
Visual filters tend to lack full IR blocking, so are OK for the human eye and a regular DSLR. I think they also tend to have pass bandwidths similar to the standard CCD filters, rather than the extra narrow ones. Astronomik say you can use their visual filters on a CCD camera if you combine with a separate IR block filter. Letting some IR through from stars on a reflector is probably not a big problem, it will be in focus. On a refractor, I would speculate, things might get ugly with bloated stars.
