Synguider

Hi. has anyone got a synguider and are they easy to use or better still useful  and worth having. At the moment not using any guiders ans limited to 2 minute light  frames. I  have a 8" SCT (with 6.3 focal reducer) and a canon 450d DSLR camera

Would appreciate your  knowledge and imput

Mate had one and it worked OK but found it very frustrating and a bit picky about guide stars ... Sold it !

Ok, Thanks for your honest opinion. So what do you use as a guider?
