A bit of "hows the weather" conversation

Recommended Posts

As a newbie it would be nice to know during the day or seasons a good night for viewing.

I know there is no definitive way of predicting the weather (as you would be very rich!!) and I'm sure I will open up a can of worms, but is there a general rule of thumb for predicting a decent nights viewing...A fine hot clear summers day....or maybe a crisp clear winters day...or do you even develop a sixth sense??

As I said previously no one can be 100%, but what do you guys do generally.

As a general rule, it depends on your area. But in my area i get more clear (no clouds) nights during the summer, however frosty nights of the winter produce results that make summer time viewing look pale and inobscure by comparison. In short train your skills now, so that when winters long, dark and clear skies arrive - you are ready
