First Attempt At Imaging

Crowmium

Recommended Posts

After having a rather unsuccessful night on Thursday, the skies were luckily clear last night. I quickly got some shots of the setting Moon before starting to properly align. Polar and telescope alignment took a good few hours, and by the time I was done my DSLR battery had ran out. After a quick half an hour recharge, I got round to imaging.

Overall I'm pretty pleased with the results, all though clearly the alignment wasn't as good as I thought it was - something to work on next time! I'm also using a clip in filter for light pollution that does a great job but makes my images intrinsically blue. This had to be corrected in post processing.

All images made of 10 10s light frames and 10 dark frames.

Equipment used: Skywatcher NEQ 6 Mount, SW 80ED Refractor, Canon 100D DSLR and and Astronomik CLS DSLR clip-in filter.

Any feedback is welcome :)
