Tripod and mounting brackets for bins

Hi all have had a look through previous posts and can't seem to find the answers I am looking for. Having purchased a set of bins I am now on the lookout for a tripod and was wondering does any camcorder tripod suit binoculars or is it a specialist item because in my minds eye a camera tripod would seem very low to the ground and not a very comfortable position

Depends on how tall you are and the size of the bins. If you're not too tall and the bins are something like 10x50 this is great

For bigger bins or if you're tall you'll need a taller tripod. Lots of folk prefer a decent monopod to a tripod, to overcome the inherent problems of tripping over legs and of bending your neck at an uncomfortable angle.

A bit more info and you might be able to get a better recommendation.

Thanks for the reply jonf that looks like a great tripod my binoculars are 10 X 50s and I'm only 5' 10" so not too tall 70" sounds a fair height. Will look into monopods never heard of them

I am a fabricator by trade that looks a great idea some aluminium might be going missing in work

I've got the Ravelli tripod and grip and it's brilliant (I'm 6' tall). I've had 20x60s and a 100mm Maksutov scope on it, and both felt solid on this setup. Great value for money.
