Astromaster130
Evening all, Could someone tell me how I can put a filter on my dslr when using it at prime focus on a telescope! This would be without a barlow or eyepiece adapter and screwed straight onto the scope with a t thread
michael.h.f.wilkinson
If it is a Canon EOS, clip filters are the way to go.

RT65CB-SWL
Do you mean a 1.25" filter? - then you are going to need one of these... a T-mount nose adaptor...http://www.skysthelimit.org.uk/telescope%20adapters.htmlIf you are planning afocal photography, then you are going to need one of these... a 1.25" eyepiece adjustable T-mount... http://www.skysthelimit.org.uk/telescope%20camera%20adapters.htmlnote: on some, the nosepiece unscrews from the main body.Alan, (the owner), is genuine and has many satisfied SGL members as customers. StargeezerTim
Hi there, A nosepiece attaches to the T thread thingy that attaches to your camera. Most nosepieces have a filter thread on the inside of the barrel. I would think carefully about whether to get a 2" or 1.25" nosepiece and filter (assuming your focuser accepts 2" barrels). I went for a 1.25" barrel and filters because they are cheaper but as my imaging improved, I got a coma corrector to improve the images. The coma corrector has a 2" barrel so my 1.25" filters are useless and I had to get 2" anyway. This might not be relevant to you, but I thought I would mention it anyway.... Tim. Its hard to explain, I was thinking of something along the lines of something like the t-ring that I have but with an extra thread to screw a filter on! So nothing changes apart from an extra thread for the filter
