Photoshop can not open my TIFF - RAM problem

Hello,

I have a TIFF file of 100MB that I am trying (for the first time) to open in PS CS5, and I is coming back with - "Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM)". I am on a laptop with core i5 and 6GB RAM, but with an integrated graphics card (as I am not really a gamer). Am I really short of physical RAM, or is there anything else I can go apart from getting a beefier PC ?
