what star is it in the round bit of elephants trunk

hi been trying to find it on stellarium but can't seem to locate the top bit of the trunk. I have a small ccd so it's hard to find it seems with such a small FOV

There are several stars in there but I assume you mean the orange star.

If so thats GCVS V0390 Cep, a variable star that varies between 13 and 16 magnitube.

There is a brighter whiter one near it and that is UCAC4-738-076938 at around mag 9.

hi. yes thanks for the detailed info and sorry for the rather non technical description. Yes it's the sort of reflection orange star in the curve. I hunted for it last night wit 7 min exposures and had no luck. Managed to get it a year o so ago and though I would have no problem finding it in Stellarium, but it seems to miss this main section.
