Get Stellarium Catalogues

When I go to the configuration window of Stellarium the options tab give me the option of downloading additional star catalogues. It seems to be stuck on 5 of 9, I have tried leaving the window open for hours (it says you can close it). Nothing happens, it looks like no new stars and it doesn't move on to download 6 of 9.

Any suggestions?

Please can you tell me what version you are downloading, what os you have too.

My Stellarium just doesn't work.  Click on it and it says (after 3 secs)  Stellarium stopped working...

Are you using Windows Vista?

Stellarium 0.11.2 Windows 8.1

The behaviour is that, after several minutes, the button returns to saying I can click to download 5 out of 9. Everything else appears to work, including a number of plugins.

I'm on 0.13.3 on Win 7 and I had no trouble loading catalogues 5 and 6. Didn't try 7 as the size was a bit much (149meg!).

@stubmandrel, the files are BIG leave them load, also Stellarium is at v13.3, try updating version first.

@moonwalker, also need version of os and stellarium, cannot do much with info provided!

I tried waiting overnight - but I'm downloading V13.3, and I'll give it a go.

Now that's much better, I get a progress bar at bottom right straight away, 35% and counting.

Hope that helps 13.3  fixes a lot of old bugs..,14.0 is on its way though, its in beta test! I'll post when it becomes available.

Hi Mark,

Latest version here (13.3)   ;--- http://www.stellarium.org/

Just make sure you choose the right version 32 / 64 bit. If you have an xp laptop and it does not work you need to try 12.3 for the right openGl version.

Hi Damian,

Dim Hwyl unfortunately.  Saw 32/64 bit option.  Clicked on 32 bit.  But, as soon as I start to launch it, the program stops working and says it will only work on 64 bit!?.

Celestia seems to work, but do not know how to use it yet...
