Distance 3300 light yrs.

NGC2174-5, The Monkey Nebula, is a red diffused nebula at the tip of Orion's club. Though the nebula is in the area of Orion, it's easy to search that from the stars in Gemini. but you'll be able to remind the nebula of a monkey's face when being upside down. It's fairly difficult to appreciate the nebula with naked eyes, but it's very photogenic, can be captured into films brightly and be enjoyed its interesting figure.

The nebula has a distance of about 3300 light years from the solar system. Around this field is in the winter's milky way, and various gaseous objects like the Rosette Nebula lie scattered in this celestial field
