Quick assembly question...

Hi,

Spending Sunday afternoon assembling my first telescope... Instructions / my knowledge is relatively poor...

Do I ignore the extension tube and fit the baader clicklock star diagonal directly onto the 50.8 ocular adaptor?

If so, when would I need to use the extension tube which comes with it?

Yes,

Remove the 2" to 1.25" adaptor and insert the diagonal nosepiece.

You may need the adaptor to use your 1.25" eyepieces.....

So I put the baader 2" clicklock diagonal directly into the first 50.8 ocular adaptor? Just being overly careful!

Why would I need the extension tube for the 1.25" eye pieces? Is this just to increase the focal length at higher magnification?

I was looking at the 2" to 1.25" reducer....

The 50mm extension piece is to allow eyepieces to be used WITHOUT a diagonal being fitted.

- If you use the diagonal, you'll probably not need the extension tube.

The extension tube might also allow you to attach a camera and achieve focus instead of using the star diagonal.
