Modded webcam first light

I was able to go out tonight with the main aim to test my new modified Logitech quick cam communicate stx plus. Unfortunately Jupiter was block by my neighbours house, I managed to focus on venus using sharp cap. I know I won't get much detail from venus but my main aim was to test the webcam, at least the clips I got will give me some thing to mess with on registrar, might post my results tomorrow.

Good stuff Dom, get anything out of Registax? Is the image ok from a CMOS sensor? I've heard that they're not quite as good as CCDs.

I tried to get some images early last week, sadly the sky was too light to get much contrast.

The Zwo cameras are cmos and give excellent results. I don't think it's such an issue for planetary imaging.

My webcam is only VGA, wasn't much detail on venus anyway
