I have an AZ EQ5GT mount, a Synscan handset and lots of questions!

Thanks for that - I think I'll check on my battery's capability and perhaps replace it but....it's quite a big but really. Well, I've read and re-read the instructions manual and then I saw it...the telescope has to be on the right hand side of the mount!

Seems to be a doddle - you put the telescope on, line it up with Polaris, do a quick alignment and away you go. It takes longer than using an alt-az mount manually, but doesn't take any longer than aligning with my Argo Navis push-to device I'm used to, with the added bonus of tracking. 

It is a lot simpler than I've made it look in this thread. Basically, if I'd have put the telescope on the right way round, there wouldn't have been this thread!
