April 20, 2015: Something is rearing its head on the eastern limb

Recommended Posts

Just been out observing/imaging with the Solar Spectrum kit, and while the computer chugs away had a quick look with the SM-II 60 for a full disk view. While it does not have the level of detail of the other kit, it does give stunning views of the ARs that currently dot the disk. A huge filament adorns the north of the disk, and some more filaments can be seen down south. When I started the early morning imaging session, I spotted a low, flat prom on the east, hinting at the presence of yet another AR round the corner. Just now, something seems t be rearing up from that area. Could be worth watching
