Storing cheap(ish) mounts in the garden shed

Recommended Posts

I recently got myself an AZ4 mount with steel tripod, and was wondering if it was OK to store it in the garden shed.

I am a tad concerned long time storage in a humid environment, however it is quite bulky to keep at home (and the other half is not impressed)...

Can I just leave it in the company of the lawn mower without ending up with a pile of rust within a year or 2 ?

The convenience factor would also be quite pleasant.

I have a NEQ6 plus scope left in a Obby 24/7 for a couple of years its not a lot different to a garden shed, might be a bit draughtier with the gaps around the roof, works just fine......spray the legs with WD40 will keep it shiny...

It looks like it's mostly aluminium, plastic and coated steel so you should be ok on the corrosion side of things. I would probably tuck it in with an old sheet over it though - just for good measure.
