DSO-1 & 8" F15.5 first try.

First try using my 8" f15.5 mct. Poor alignment, no guiding, lots of dew, poor focus. Used .38 reduction on dso's, Jupiter at f15.5. Excuse poor color balance. Best detail on Jupiter was using INTMUL 5. Seeing 2/5

With the DSO-1 (Jupiter) I was using astrolive. 1/60 second, no histogram adjustment, AGC=0. Intmul 0 on first shot, 2 on the next several, last was 5. Last couple B&W, did not mess around with color balance. On M42 and M3 I was at x16, INTMUL=0, AGC off. No Post processing. Was more a test of if using a focal reducer in this scope. At .38 with the reducer I at least had no vignetting, though coma was very evident. I also determined for planetary using these small chips I need to have pretty good seeing to get decent results as the image scale is huge with the ZWO, I took a bunch of images, most were pretty ugly and I deleted them. I tried to post process one image, but as soon as I imported it into nebulosity it turned purple and was ruined.

The best views were just watching it live on the monitor, much easier to catch moments of slightly better seeing. Figure the DSO-1 was about 525x, the ZWO much more.Best image was visual by far using a 13mm eyepiece for 242x. Perfect color balance :-). I need to do a serious alignment and set up my PEC next time to get better results. I was surprised at how easy it was to blow out M42 even at 1200mm fl. Could not use AGC above X2, and at 256 screen went white.
