Jupiter 04-03-15 - Collimation really does help!

Hello All,

Just adding my 2 cents to this post. I had a conversation with Kokatha man back in April on this subject and his suggestion was to collimate the scope for the activity it will be used for. If you're going to view, then the diagonal and eyepiece method is ok, but if you're going to image, then you should do the collimation with your camera installed in the image train of your scope and the star on your laptop. I've only been in this hobby for about 2 years now, so the idea of collimation in the beginning seemed a bit intimidating to me, but like anything else, practice makes perfect! Clear skies............
