steppenwolf
Hi Glen, There is no reason why your D40 shouldn't be suitable for DSO imaging as it has that all important 'bulb' setting. To get started, you need to purchase a Nikon 'T' adapter ring. This costs between £12.00 and £20.00 and screws onto the built in thread on the focus tube of your telescope. I have this telescope myself and have had no problems achieving focus with a DSLR. In addition, it would make sense to get a remote shutter release cable.
