I'm a novice and just bought the Meade 100-degree AFOV 5mm eyepiece. In the same seeing conditions my Hyperion 8-24 mm zoom with BP barlow seems to offer more contrast, clarity and of course convenience. The Meade is a disappointment.

What scope are you using these eyepieces with ?
