Constilation Fornax

OK... now i know you need to have a relatively good imagination to picture the images of the constilations...

But looking at Stellarium and seeing the images of the constilations clearly... i spotted Fornax...

I'd like to know just how they came out with a "bed side table" from two stars connected by a single line!!!

I just don't get how or WHY... ??

I thought that Fornax was "the Furnace" - but I agree that you need a good imagination to come up with that from those 2 stars

The picture represents a furnace, although a rather oblique reference. A bit of a pun there considering the angle it sits at.

You can see flames licking arouind a pot on there, and smoke coming out of the other plate on the left.

There are a number of bright galaxies on the border with Eridanus, and it is claimed nine of them can be seen in one view.

There is a very strong radio source in there known as Fornax A.
