So i have a telescope and i'm loving it.

Visited the folks tonight and had a dig around up their loft and came across a pair of BNU 8 x 30 made in USSR Binoculars in a case with tinted detachable eye covers.

They seem really well made and my old man gave them away with me...

Being a cloudy night i cant really try them out...

Anyone offer any info on binoculars and the magnification suitable for some star gazing?

The 8x30's will be OK but ideally you would want larger objective lenses (the 2nd figure) so 10x50's are a popular size of binocular for astronomy purposes. The Russian ones are good quality though.
