Betelgeuse: Crazy Video

Came upon this video image of Betelgeuse. Is this seriously what you see with live video cam footage on this crazy star?!?!?!

That's only how it looks through a wobberly mounted/guided scope with the usual atmospheric distortions Liquid.

The star itself is somewhat more stable than how that video shows it

Betelgeuse is OK. What you see is totally down to the users mount moving about and atmospheric conditions.

To look at (if you're orbiting the star), Betelgeuse will (most likely) look just like the Sun, just its colour will be quite red'ish and somewhat bigger.

So totally ignore what you see in that video.

Yup, a pretty meaningless video to be honest! Reminds me of the videos that people take when they walk down the garden forgetting that they are carrying a still switched on video camera.
