How to link and control telescope with indoor computer

I am unwell and have given up active hobbies but have  developed an interest in astronomy. I would like to be able to control and watch the results on a computer linked to a telescope in my back garden. Is this possible? Can a goto mount be used? Advice and some idea of the equipment needed  would be helpful. I am a complete novice.

You could use a laptop/NUC at the mount, with a video camera in the eyepiece and control it all over an Ethernet cable from a PC in the house. Or pipe the video feed direct to a big screen.

What you want to do is perfectly possible but there are a few things you should be aware of.

A setup that allows you to view the planets will not be suitable for most nebulae and galaxies.

You'll need two computers, one at the mount and one inside connected over your home network. Wired is best, wifi doesn't usually provide an adequate data transfer rate from outside.
