IC2177 Seagull Nebula

The Seagull Nebula sits on the border of Canis Major and Monoceros. First time I've imaged this object- needs about 300-400mm fl to cover the whole object as it's quite large. Interestingly it was discovered by Welsh born pioneer astrophotographer Issac Roberts possibly using a plate camera piggybacked on a telescope! I haven't seen this on SGL often, maybe the low declination of -10 degs is a limitation (very nearly the same declination as M42 though).

IC2177 Seagull Nebula 300+120s, 6" F4 GSO Newtonian (working at F2.9), Fuji IS Pro DSLR @ ISO3200 + ISO1000, dark sky site in Mid Wales.
