Getting started

Hi I've just got a skywatcher skymax 127, I'm having problems setting it up , I have found my geo postion and have inputted that, I start the star aligment and it chooses Capella which I can find and centre it in the eyepiece, then it will ask me to choose another star let's say vega so I do and it starts to slew then stops nowhere near where it should be. So I choose the two star aligment option, again I find and centre the star and same with the other star. It's says it's been successful, but then I say goto the moon and it says it's below the horizon which it's clearly not. Getting frustrated any ideas? Thanks

I can only think that the coordinates I put in are wrong, but every site I go to they say the same numbers 1 8 252w 51 15n

This is normally operator error, you need to put  51.15n in first..>????

Are you entering the time correctly?

It is easy to be an hour out....Summer time / GMT etc..

Presumably, the time zone is also correct?

Are you putting the date in correct format??? Is it supposed to be the American way MONTH / DAY / YEAR. Always worth a check.

Thanks for the feedback guys, can't test tonight as it is cloudy, but hopefully I have just put the coordinates round the wrong way, as the time and date are correct
