I don't think it will cause you too may problems - the auto level and true north are only used to get you to the first alignment star. Once you do the 2 or 3 star alignment that will override the level settings anyway.

So, as long as you can put up with perhaps having to work a bit harder to find the first alignment start I think you will be OK. And if you use it on a wedge it doesn't use it anyway!

By the way, how do you know the auto level isn't working?

It would be interesting to see what the scope actually does with a non working auto level, does it carry on with the rest of the setup or throw up an error stopping you going any further.

The other thing to bear in mind is that the Auto Level sensor is just a ball bearing that slides up and down so if you have a bit of mechanical/electrical knowledge you may well be able to fix it (could just be a broken cable, dirty contacts etc.).
