Meteor??

Just been out with nice clear skies and generally panning the sky with my binoculars. . whilst giving my arms a rest I saw a really bright and large ball of light move really quickly towards delphinus

Anyone else see this?

I've seen some similar sights earlier in the year during the lyrids meteor shower. . . would this that I saw tonight be another meteor?

Sounds like one - they do tend to be pretty quick.

It was quite big, shot across the sky quickly and sorta disappeared as quick as it appeared, pretty impressive.

I agree that sounds like a fireball - also called a bolide. There was just a string of those along the East-Coast of the US, and several in the Midwest here.

Quite by accident,I saw a meteor through my binoculars last night! I was scanning the area around Triangulum and Aries at the time. I guess it was a sporadic bit of spacedust - and hardly in the Bolide class!

I had the "Mother of All" accidental observations one night with my 12" LX200. I was hunting some DSO or other when I was nearly knocked out of my boots. The ISS (Zarya) went across my low-power FOV!
