Drift alignment...again

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

So I was using PHD2 last night to do some guiding and I'm getting 30min subs ok, but there was a little bit of field rotation at the end of the night when looking at the first and last subs. I had a look at the history and target tabs for the star I was tracking and they were both jumping all over the place. So I'm guessing my alignment wasn't quite as good as I thought it was!

I've read up on drift aligning and understand the theory, however my problem is that my garden faces north and the south is blocked by my house. How do I find a usable star close to dec 0 in the south when I can't see through brick and mortar :)

Any suggestions? Or am I thinking something wrong...

Thanks,

Phil.
