First off, I am not sure i did a good job but I think it worked okay (considering how bright the moon was last night)

Not bad at all. You would need to tweak the focusing a bit. Also, on Registax, you have an RGB Align option on the palette on the right hand side. If you choose the automatic option it will get rid of the red and blue fringe caused by atmospheric dispersion. What camera and mount do you have??

iPhone 5 camera and the mount I have for the scope is a simple alt az mount. And I didn't know about the rgb align option

That's great for an iPhone! You could bring out a little more detail with processing sw. If you don't have Photoshop or one of the others, try The GIMP. It's free and has some of the features of PS such as Levels and Curves. I haven't used it though.

I have Photoshop express In my phone bit something similar on my laptop that came with the laptop that I'm still figuring out.
