Cable question

I want to plug my Virtuoso mount into my PC and know that it can be done and controlled via ASCOM etc.

A company in brazil sell the cables but I also note that it 'simply' needs a USB-TTL interface and a RJ12 connector.

The problem I have is a complete lack of knowledge of all things electronic.

I have seen the USB-TTL interface cable for sale online but how does this then get connected to an RJ12 connector so it fits into the mount?

That is probably a very stupid question and will no doubt involve the word 'solder' in the answer... if so, can anybody make one of these up for me as I don't want to risk my mount being fried due to having been blessed with the soldering skills of a monkey.

you need a USB to Serial lead and a Serial to RJ12

I thought I had seen a previous thread in which the RS-232 cable option was used and it did not work for the Virtuoso mount?

Is the suggested option above different from the USB-TTL and then R12 connector?
