as cool as Andromeda

And here we are specks upon specks in the incredibly large universe.   I was wondering if there is anything to observe that is as cool as M31?  Without a large telescope that is.  Please send your thoughts.   Thanks!

One pretty cool thing, that's moving across Cassiopeia right now, is Comet Jaques. Not that bright, and fairly fuzzy, but in even in just half an hour or so you can really notice its movement across the sky. Worth a look if you can track it down. Tonight, for example, it'll be pretty close to Epsilon Cassiopeiae (the star at the top left-hand end of the "W"). Easier to find with binoculars anyway, and you have the Double Cluster close by for added visual treat - to the right and down a bit from the comet. Or start from M31, and pan left and up to get to the W of Cassiopeia.

Enjoy!
